WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app on the Internet. But still, it doesn’t have a reliable backup system like Telegram or other messaging platforms. In Telegram, our data will never get lost, and it will remain in the cloud until we get manually deleted. But in the case of WhatsApp, it will only store the data until we see the message. Then we need to take care of our chats and images through either google drive backup or local backup.

The Google Drive backup is a great option and recommends to backup your data by using it. But in situations like resetting the phone or flashing new ROMs, then we need to restore the data from Google Drive when we set up the WhatsApp again. But having colossal backup size may sometimes make difficulty in restoring the data for some users due to a limited amount of data plan, and if we skip it, we will going lose all the previous backup. Also, if we have phones with no GMS(Google Mobile Services) support like new Honor/Huawei Phones, we have to rely on the Local Backup and restore method entirely.

WhatsApp themself provides an excellent local backup and restore option, but most people are not familiar with or haven’t used it or had any idea how to use it properly. So they are using some moded whatsapp clients/apps which are highly insecure and have a high level of privacy concern. Also, people use PC apps like Wondershare Mobile Trans, which is also not a reliable solution.

So by this guide will help to use official WhatsApp Local backup and restore method with step by step instructions.

After completing the backup, you need to go to the internal storage and compress the whatsapp folder after completing the compression copy of this compressed file into your PC or other storage option.
(we are compressing it because the whatsapp folder contain a large number of small files which will make usual copy-paste method extremely slow or your PC will run in to not responding mode)
